Soulmate is an app for couples. It asks you for genuinely personal things — your birth details, what you want in your relationship and your sex life, and what you've written about how you and your partner work. This policy says plainly what we collect, where it goes, who can see it, and how to get rid of it.
Soulmate is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to use it.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — your name and profile picture from your Google account. Authentication is handled by Supabase; we never see or store your password.
About you. Your name, and your birth date, birth time, birth city and birth country. Birth time is optional. These are used to calculate your astrological chart.
Your relationship. Who your partner is, the nickname you give them, and any important dates you add (anniversaries, birthdays).
Your Desire Map answers. How you rate each item in the Desire Map — including items about sex, intimacy and kink — along with whether you've done it before and how you feel about it. This is information about your sex life. We treat it as sensitive, and so should you when deciding what to enter.
Your written reflections. Your free-text answers to the Operating Styles questions, about intimacy, conflict, attachment and how you make decisions together.
Bug reports. If you report a bug: what you wrote, plus your app version, build number, device model and iOS version.
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics, and there is no advertising or tracking in the app.
What your partner can see
Soulmate is built around a shared relationship, so some of your information is deliberately visible to the partner you've paired with:
- Your name, and your birth date, time and place. Either of you can view or edit both people's birth details.
- Important dates — these are shared.
- Your Desire Map answers — all of them. Once you have both finished your maps, the report shows every item, with your rating alongside your partner's. Not only the ones you agree on. Your partner can see how you answered each of the 318 items, and you can see how they answered. Nothing is revealed to either of you until you have both finished.
- Your Operating Styles answers, once you've both answered. An answer is revealed to your partner only after they have genuinely answered the same question themselves. If you skip a question, nothing is revealed.
What your partner cannot see: your bug reports, and the nickname you chose for them.
Who else your information goes to
We use a small number of third-party services to make the app work. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Supabase — stores your account and all app data, and handles sign-in.
astrology-api.io — receives your name, birth date, birth time, birth city and birth country in order to calculate your astrological chart. It does not receive your Desire Map answers or your written reflections.
Anthropic (the Claude API) — receives the information used to write your readings: both partners' names and calculated chart positions, your Desire Map item ratings, your Operating Styles answers and your important dates. This means information about your sex life is sent to Anthropic to generate your readings. Anthropic processes it to return the reading and does not use it to train its models.
Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Apple — if you're testing the app through TestFlight, Apple receives standard TestFlight information such as crash logs and your tester email.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently deletes:
- your profile, name and birth details
- all of your Desire Map answers
- all of your written Operating Styles reflections
- your nicknames and bug reports
- the readings generated for your relationship
Your partner keeps their own answers, their own profile and their own history — deleting your account does not delete theirs. Shared important dates stay with your partner. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Most of this is available directly in the app: you can view and edit your birth details and every Desire Map answer, and delete your account outright. For anything else, contact us at the address below.
Because Soulmate collects information about your sex life, we treat it as a special category of personal data. We process it only to provide the app's features to you and your partner, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your account.
Children
Soulmate is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
